The fact that when they do decide to give us light, it’s often ‘tomato light’ i.e. too low to carry even the fluorescent, is by no means a surprising incident. The fact that we sometimes celebrate Christmas or Sallah in darkness is also something we have gotten used to but what I never envisaged was that
there would not be a blink of light on Thursday, October 1st, 2009 – Nigeria’s Independence Day Anniversary.

Strange enough, when I woke up that day and actually all through my activities at home during the day, it did not strike me that the reason I was spending time with my children on a weekday and not at work was because I was supposed to be celebrating Nigeria’s independence. I was simply enjoying the holiday and absolutely forgot the reason for the holiday. Maybe, if I had put on the TV, it would have dawned on me but alas, there was no light and my generator was feeling the heat of having been overworked and was messing up.

It wasn’t until 10.30pm that it dawned on me. I was wide awake with so much inspiration to finish what I was working on but had to shut down my laptop irrespective because the battery was extremely low and already begging for mercy and then, it dawned on me:

A day of supposed celebration
49th anniversary of independence & freedom
Our birthday… a day to party
A day when the global news or CNN would focus on us to tell the world how we celebrated the supposed great day of achievement.

What did we have to show for it? Total Black-Out. Not as much as a blink of light. It dawned on me that the situation is so bad that even NEPA could no longer pretend. There had to be absolute lights-out. Hmm! No wonder even my 2yrs+ son knows the name NEPA. How sad. Truly, except we rise up and do something.

Ofcourse, I know that NEPA is not a respecter of areas i.e. no light in Egbeda, Otta, Surulere, Lekki/VI, Ogun State, Kaduna etc. Ofcourse, I know that it is neither a respecter of some days i.e. no light on Christmas day, New Year’s day, Sallah holidays e.t.c but I honestly thought it was a respecter of this particular day: 1st of October. Alas, how wrong I was. Honestly folks, this shook me; it shook me to my bone marrows and moved me close to tears for our great nation. The self-proclaimed giants of Africa?

It was only recently that Ghana celebrated One(1) year of constant power supply and we are struggling to boast of one(1) day.

Anytime I ask my son (he would be 3 next month) the question ‘What Country are you from?’ he would answer so excitedly ‘My Country - NIGERIA’. So, I ask: My Country-NIGERIA…Why? And then, I say: My Country-NIGERIA… there must be a radical change. Indeed, a complete turn-around. There must be a revival in our land.

CHANGE… we can, we must, we will.

Please, click on this link http://www.deoluakinyemi.com/a-call-to-action, read the article and pls, contribute your quota, for, that is the true essence of life and wealth… impacting your community!!!

Passionately committed to raising you to great financial heights

Derin

Are you tired of the rat-race and want to own your own life? I have absolutely no doubt in my mind that ‘the Lord maketh rich’. The ability to prosper, be financially empowered and financially intelligent is always attributed to the God factor.

Let’s look at it from this angle, sometimes your next door neighbour hears of a juicy opportunity within your vicinity and takes advantage of it and you were right in the same vicinity and did not hear and you’re wondering, ‘how come?’ Some would call it luck, others would call it
chance. Whatever name you give it, the truth is, one person getting some information before the other in a similar situation is not of the person’s doing. There is usually an external factor responsible for that, be it luck, chance, a higher being, a supernatural cause, the Man Up-there or God.

I am not saying that every information you get or opportunity that comes your way is always as a result of an external factor. No! Many people actually do go out of their way to get information and seek for opportunities; however, if you find yourself getting information on anything without effort, then, it was God that made it possible. I know some people would rather argue that it’s nothing but a matter of chance or luck, but even the Bible says “the race is not to the swift…time and chance happeneth to them all”. So, God had ordained it to be so.

Now! Let’s get a little deeper. I did mention earlier that people do go out of their way to seek for information. I’m sure you know that not all the people that seek for information would find it and if they do find, it would be in varied degrees. That you sought and found, is because God willed it to be so. The Bible says ‘Seek and ye shall find’, which means, if you strongly believe in that scripture and hold on to it in faith, then, whatever you seek (if it is according to His WILL), you shall find. Hence, that a man sought financial empowerment and found it can be attributed to the fact that God willed it to be so. That someone sought financial prosperity and found it, it was God. That a man sought a wife and found one, it was God and this can also go the other way; that a man sought and did not find, it was because god did not will it to be so.

When we look at our everyday lives, we realize, we all desire to prosper, almost every lady desires to get married to a rich guy before 30, people desire to work in some certain companies, however, it is not all that achieve these things. Not because they have not tried or worked hard, but because it was not the Will of God for their lives.

So, we can safely say that in a Man or Woman’s quest for prosperity, he/she should always be in tune with the Creator, the Almighty God because only Him can establish prosperity in our lives.

Passionately committed to raising you to great financial heights,

Derin
Name:

I’ve been so neck-deep in work at the office and have not been able to update you as I should. Without wasting any more of your time, let me ask: Did you buy the shares of Japaul Oil from the secondary market as advised? If you didn’t, did you buy the public offer? I hope you didn’t miss that great opportunity?

Yes, Japaul was on public offer, and it has just been recently concluded. Remember I told you they were on technical suspension at N6.02, because they were coming out? Well, they came out and sold at N3.50 rights issue (for present shareholders) and N3.95 for non-shareholders. Hmm! Believe it or not Japaul is a one-man company, owned by
a certain Jegede Paul but this man has promised to give the banks a run for their money, as he aims at seeing the share price reach the N20 mark soon. Could this be true? I guess, we’ll just have to watch and see. However, the stock has been living beyond expectation and has been on the rise.

Early this year, Japaul was about N1.90. By my calculations, it shows that the share price has gone up times 3.5, as it is now N6.30 i.e. those who invested in it then, would have made a profit of almost 350%. In essence, someone who bought 100, 000 units of Japaul shares at N190, 000 would sell that same number of shares for N602, 000 and ofcourse the person that invested N1.9m, would be smiling to the bank with N6.2m after he must have sold them, just within one year. Talk about a great investment.

Okay, what next? I promised to feed you with details of stocks to watch out for. Here they are:

Flour Mills’ BAGCO SUPER BAG: This is a very good public offer at N3.90. Remember, cement companies pack their cements with Bagco super bag. I’m sure we all remember the Burham cement advert.

Stocks within the INSURANCE sector: Right now, it’s compulsory to insure your car and your house. It is also mandatory for employees to insure their staff i.e. NSITF scheme. My source tells me you should look to buy into insurance companies like: NEM, Lasaco and Great Nigeria Insurance (GNI).

Also, as you might have noticed that the business of LEASING is quietly but gradually taking shape in Nigeria. More and more people are looking towards leasing to equip themselves with the necessities of lives without having to cough out too much at once. People lease things such as land, car, generator, TV, office equipments e.t.c. For now, the only leasing company on the NSE is C & I leasing and it’s a good penny stock company to invest in.

Remember, this is just privileged information which should serve as a guide and not a guarantee. You need to do your research on these and watch out for any impacting news on any of these companies before you plunge in your money. Actually, doing the above, reading books and attending financial seminars would help develop your financial IQ and make you financially intelligent.

Till then,

Passionately committed to raising you to great financial heights,

Derin

Name:

However, a few of those above N5.00 can also be referred to as penny stocks i.e. Japaul Oil, which is now on technical suspension at N6.02, as a result of its forthcoming public offer.

These stocks have the tendency to rise faster than Blue Chip companies while also giving the investor a higher percentage in profit. For example, if you bought ABC Penny Stock company at N2.00 and sold at N7.00, you would have made 350% profit whereas, if you bought Blue Chip company XYZ at N18.00 and sold at N31.50, you would have made only 175% profit. That's the beauty of investing in penny stocks, you buy almost extremely low and sell moderately high and coupled with this is the fact that you can start with as low as N10,000 and if you can afford more, the better for you.

However, to trade penny stocks you have to open a CSCS account through your stockbroker, pay some money with which you instruct them to buy a particular stock for you from the secondary market, which means, it's not an initial public offer(IPO), public offer(PO), rights issue or private placement.

You also have a part to play, for, apart from God, every man is responsible for his own success. As such, you would need to watch the stock market price / table, so, that you would know when to instruct your broker to sell i.e when it has made considerable profit, which is usually a pre-determined decision. Your broker would never sell your stocks without your permission, so, you have to actively monitor the stock table. As the saying goes, "where a man's treasure is, his heart is".

I did mention above that selling is usually a pre-determined decision. Yes, you would need to plan your exit point/price and stick to it. Greed must not play a part here, remember, "little drops of water, make a mighty ocean". Asides that, penny stocks are best traded on a short to medium term period.

I am not claiming to be a stock market guru or a professional on penny stocks, far from it but I keep my ears close to the ground while also doing a lot of reading and research. Hence, all my tips are purely based on any information gathered and/or knowledge gained in the process.

So, what are the stocks to watch out for? That would be for my next post, but till then, take this and run with it:-

--- Although on technical suspension(i.e.put on hold at a particular price in the stock exchange, as a result of a forthcoming public offer), Japaul Oil is a very good stock to buy now, if it is still available and you can get it because in the very near future, talking about months, while others are waiting for their certificates from the public offer, you would be reaping bountifully and smiling to the Bank.

For more on Penny Stocks to invest in, keep a date with this blog and if you have any concerns or enquiries, do leave a comment.

Passionately committed to raising YOU to great financial heights,

Derin

Name:

Opportunities!! Opportunities!!!

When you look around you, what do you see? Opportunities, Discouragement or Obstacles?
I hope you see opportunities, because when I look around me, I see Opportunities. Opportunities abound everywhere, within the neighbourhood, on the streets, in your place of work, on the internet e.t.c.

Look and listen and you would see a need to fill and hear the call to render service. Your internet aircard is struggling to give you access, so, you decide to drive down the neighbourhood to any cybercafe and make use of that, but lo, to your amazement, there isn't any. That's an opportunity. Always search around for opportunities, they are everywhere and anywhere. No place is too small or too large. When you are walking down the road and encounter an incident, look deeper and you would see an opportunity to render a service that would solve people's problems.

When you are having a conversation with someone, discussing almost all the topics you can think of, listen and you would hear the call to render service. When you are reading, be it an article in a newspaper or magazine, on the web or on a blog, search deeper, you would see or hear. In rendering a service or hearing and heeding to a call to render service, you are on a sure path to financial freedom.

I have heard, seen and heeded the call and I would like to share this amazing opportunity to heed a call and be financially free with you.
